Honey Karts Deluxe Dev Log #1
Honey Karts Deluxe is a cross platform online 3D multiplayer racing game being developed by the Bears Deluxe team. The game is intended to be a FUN, competitive and engaging experience for everyone, but also to showcase how blockchain technology can enhance traditional gaming experiences while rewarding communities.
Honey Karts builds on classic racing game experiences like Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing, while integrating blockchain to utilize the conveniences it offers in regards to distribution of digital assets. The game combines classic, fun, gaming mechanics with the blockchain to add a fresh layer of interaction and ownership to the gaming experience.
Thus far, we have established a networking and physics engine, and we are now moving into level design. We are currently in the process of constructing “Bear Valley”, where bears will race through their home village! Honey Karts Deluxe will support in game items such as “Honey Splats”, “Jam Boosts”, and more to give the player an edge against their opponents. Players might have to jump over houses, traverse through tunnels, or take shortcuts through the valley to get ahead.
Additionally, custom rigs and animations for our VX Deluxe assets are underway so they can be used in the game! Deluxe!
We have successfully established a pipeline to import our assets from 3D modeling software into the kart game engine. We are designing the assets for the game in house to ensure they meet our deluxe standards.

In addition to level design, creating custom models, bolstering physics and feel, we will also begin working on blockchain integrations. Honey Karts will feature gasless user sign on for Ethereum users. If you choose to authenticate with an Ethereum address, the game will track your scores so that you may redeem prizes via blockchain. You will also be able to participate in special events based on the presence of certain assets in your wallet, or whether or not you have burned required tokens.
We look forward to sharing more updates, and releasing our first playable beta. In the next dev log, we will share level progression, and more in depth footage of Nut as he makes sure the track is ready for everyone, and some more overview of how we will use blockchain to create a unique gaming experience that will on board new users to the blockchain.
